Nuvem MLA asks CM to ensure beef is available before Christmas

Says relax attendance restrictions for Christmas & New Year’s religious functions

Margao: Nuvem BJP MLA Wilfred D’sa has written to the Chief Minister, requesting the government to ensure that beef is available for Goans before Christmas.

In that letter he referring to the ban on cattle slaughter in Karnataka, due to which, the supply of beef to Goa has stopped.

He added that beef is the main low-cost meat consumed by the minority communities and if the supply is stopped during this COVID-19 pandemic, the rates of chicken, mutton and pork will be an extra burden on the common man.

In another letter to the CM, he spoke of the approaching Christmas season, and requested the State government to relax the attendance restrictions for Christmas and New Year’s religious ceremonies.

He called for permitting additional number of people for religious ceremonies on the midnight of December 24 and on December 25 as well as on the midnight of December 31, 2020 and January 1, 2021 by following social distancing norms.
