MARGAO: Reacting to the Supreme Court decision regarding the Goa panchayat elections, Goa Forward Party (GFP) president Vijai Sardesai said that it conformed with the provisions of the Indian Constitution and on expected lines, unlike those from the government’s side who had hoped for a different outcome.
“However, my disappointment in this affair is that the Other Backward Communities haven’t got their due because of the inability to complete the reservation process. This is a serious shortcoming, and I’m surprised that even the party that was suggesting that their choice of Chief Minister would be from a particular OBC community have nothing to say now,” said Sardesai.
