PANJIM: The Old Goa Police have booked an Ahmedabad man for allegedly duping a Merces resident of Rs 2.78 lakh on the pretext of providing a three side seal pouch making machine by a manufacturer from Gujarat.

According to police, Pramod Kamat from Moloca, Merces, lodged a complaint stating that between July 26 and 30, the accused Ajaysinh Solanki, Director of Plastech Machines, Ahmedabad, received an advance of Rs 2.78 lakh from him on pretext of providing three side seal pouch making machine costing Rs 6,75,111.
Solanki had promised to deliver the machine within six to eight weeks from the date of receipt of advance but he failed to deliver the machine nor he refunded the money.
