PANJIM: Panjim police arrested a 69-year-old Lucknow native for allegedly using minor children for begging.
Police also rescued three children who were being exploited for begging, and sent them to Apna Ghar.
Accused Salim and his wife have been charged with using the children for begging and living on their earning.
“We have seized Rs 250 from the accused. The amount is in different denominations. The children would hand over their earnings to the accused couple,” PI Siddhant Shirodkar said.
It is learnt that that the wife was not arrested as she is pregnant.
