The impact of the accident was so huge that all the three vehicles— a Mahindra Bolero Jeep, a Swift Desire and a TATA Winger —suffered heavy damage.

According to DySP Sudesh Naik, the Swift Desire car, bearing reg. no. GA-06-T-6361, driven by the Afran Khan (deceased person), was heading from Bambolim to Goa Velha. The driver when reached at Goa-Velha flyover, lost control over the car due to which his vehicle jumped over the divider and dashed Mahindra Bolero Jeep, bearing reg no. DySP Naik said the impact was so powerful that the Bolero jeep tilted and dashed onto TATA Winger, bearing registration number GA-08-Q-6894, which was also proceeding towards Bambolim via flyover from Goa Velha. The tragic mishap caused grievous injuries to Dnyaneshwa Tambalcut (23), driver of Mahindra Bolero Jeep, a resident of Kolhapur and simple injury to its other occupant Manoj Gaurav (21) and Yuvraj Vanzare (23) both residents of Chandgad.
