CANACONA: A resident of Canacona working in Verna Industrial Estate was tested positive for COVID, on Tuesday, increasing the number of confirmed cases in Canacona to 18.
Dr Vandana Desai, health officer, at Canacona Community Health Centre informed that the male worker aged 30 years upon learning that some of the persons working in Verna IDC being tested positive came for self testing at the health centre on Monday and his testing result came positive, on Tuesday.

“As he was asymptomatic, he is admitted to COVID Care Centre while the swab samples of family members have been collected and sent for testing at Hospicio Hospital, Margao,” informed Dr Desai.
“With the recovery of nine COVID cases in Canacona, the active cases now stand at nine of the total 18 cases in the taluka,” mentioned Dr Desai.
