MARGAO: The Telaulim gram sabha that was attended by only seven villagers on Sunday turned out to be a damp squib.
The members demanded that the underpass proposed at Coldem be constructed in such a way that that a fire tender should pass through. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar who visited the place recently had assured the villagers that an underpass would be constructed and on Sunday, the villagers demanded that fire tender to pass through the underpass.
The villagers asked the panchayat to issue notices to those for dumping garbage in road side gutters and setting the same on fire.
They asked the panchayat to request the Public Works Department to clean the gutters at Belem along the highway.
