Oppose polluting projects: South MP

MARGAO: The South Goa Member of Parliament on Saturday advised the people of Goa to keep their eyes open and oppose the projects that will result in pollution of hinterland riverine areas. He has asked the people to stop the three projects that are bound to happen in Goa which will create destruction and pollution.

South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha said that the government has said that Goans will get jobs from the power transmission line project. “The headquarters are somewhere else and Goans won’t get any jobs,” he said.

He also demanded that the government should pursue with the Central government to have recruitment of Goans in Goa for the Central agencies which have their operations in the State. 

He called out to the Chief Minister that the problems that the people are trying to put before you have to be considered and people have to be given relief.
