PANJIM: The Opposition on Wednesday strongly condemned the State government for registering First Information Report (FIR) against the Shri Dev Bodgeshwar Sansthan Committee.
It may be recalled that the Mapusa Police on Tuesday registered the FIR against the Committee for allowing 146 stalls at the ongoing fair as against permission for only 75.

Goa Forward Party (GFP) president Vijai Sardesai took to twitter to vent his ire.
“A brute majority of mere mortals n the #Assembly, or having the police at one’s command does not put the @goacm or the @GovtofGoa above God. Make no mistake, the FIR against the #DevBogdeswarSansthan Committee members will not go unanswered, and @BJP4Goa will regret playing God,” he posted.
Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte hinted the FIR is revenge to GFP’s pledge before Lord Bodgeshwar to not align with BJP in future.
“@DrPramodPSawant ‘s Autocracy doesn’t spare God’s also! #DevBogdeswar Temple Committee targeted for Political Vendetta only b’cos (because) @VijaiSardesai & @Goaforwardparty had pledged against BJP here. @BJP4Goa is misusing Government machinery to disrupt religious harmony,” the Porvorim legislator tweeted.
