Order on Francisco delayed for want of stenographer

MARGAO: Chief Judicial Magistrate Kalpana Gawas on Wednesday adjourned to Thursday orders on three cases against Francisco Pereira wherein he is charged with desecrating religious monuments. The magistrate could not pronounce the order as she did not have a stenographer to type it.

MARGAO: Chief Judicial Magistrate Kalpana Gawas on Wednesday adjourned to Thursday orders on three cases against Francisco Pereira wherein he is charged with desecrating religious monuments. The magistrate could not pronounce the order as she did not have a stenographer to type it.
The court was to pronounce its order on the chargesheet filed by the Maina Curtorim police following the desecration of the cross at Raitollem in Curtorim on July 4, 2017. The other two chargesheets are filed by Quepem Police regarding the destruction caused to the cross and structure at Taichoguno in Paroda on October 4, 2014 and the desecration of a gumti and Lord Brahma Idol and also a cross at Gudi Paroda on March 19, 2016.
Francisco is represented by Adv Manjil Desai in the two cases involving desecration of crosses at Raitollem and Taichoguno Paroda while Adv Eric Coutinho represents him in the Gudi Paroda case.
