MARGAO: South Goa Additional Sessions Judge P V Sawaikar on Wednesday quashed JMFC Bosco Robert’s order to search 10, Akbar Road – the residence of Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.
The Goa Government had filed a petition challenging the search warrant, which had kicked up a major row over the jurisdiction of the Goa police.
Public Prosecutor Shilpa Nagvenkar, in her affidavit filed on Tuesday, said “The JMFC did not seek any say from the prosecution and issued the search warrant without further inquiry on the authenticity of the information.”
Taking strong objection, Rodrigues said “The affidavit filed by Assistant Public Prosecutor Shilpa Nagvenkar is false and misleading as the JMFC had on April 22 asked the police before” issuing the search warrant.
Rodrigues said that he would study the court’s order before taking a decision on challenging it.
“I will definitely make a prayer to the court for recovery of the money from the absconding MLA as the Goa Police have wasted a lot of the tax payers’ money on the investigation and excursions of the police to Delhi,” said Rodrigues. He also accused the government of helping the former MLA to avoid arrest.
Meanwhile, the 30-day term of the proclamation issued against Mickky will soon end. However, there is still no sign of him. Rumors state that, while the Goa Police are still camping in Delhi, Mickky is hiding out in Goa.
