CURCHOREM: Curchorem police on Saturday registered a theft case against unknown person(s).
According to investigating officer PSI Viju Dessai, on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, the culprits entered a shop in the municipal building near the Curchorem railway station by punching a hole in the back side wall and then made another hole in the common wall between the shops to enter into the goldsmith shop.
“The burglars decamped with some silver and gold ornaments worth Rs 1.14 lakh which was on display in the showcases and the remaining gold which was kept in the locker remained safe,” Dessai said.
Police have requisitioned the services of dog squad and finger print experts and have registered a case against unknown person(s) under Section 457 and 380 of IPC.
