MARGAO: The gram sabha of Paroda panchayat on Sunday approved the village development plan prepared by the Panchayat body.
The village development plan was presented at the gram sabha by Sarpanch Deepak Kharangate detailing various developmental activities proposed to be taken up in various wards of the village.
The sarpanch informed the villagers that a copy of proposed development plant shall be submitted to ZP as the ZP chairperson had promised help.
Gram sabha members also appreciated and congratulated the PWD officials for having carried cleaning of road side bushes in the village. Villagers, however, expressed their displeasure that resolutions adopted by the gram sabha are many a times overruled by government. The gram sabha members asked the sarpanch to write to the concerned authorities expressing their displeasure on the subject.
Issue of public sanitation was also discussed at the gram sabha with sarpanch informing that in many cases, the absence of NOCs from the landlords has come in the way of construction of toilets.
The villagers were informed that presently the plastic garbage in village is collected once a month and asked the villagers to segregate plastic from wet garbage. The sarpanch also stated that panchayat shall hold awareness camp on plastic garbage collection in village.
