Paroda murder accused remanded in 14 days’judicial custody

MARGAO: Madhya Pradesh native Ramkumar Ramjilal Rawat, who was arrested in connection with the murder of 57-year-old Ubaldina Braganca of Moddemwado, Paroda, was remanded in 14 days judicial custody by the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Quepem. Addressing mediapersons, South Goa SP Sunita Sawant informed that a police team, which was sent to Morena with the assistance of Sabalgarh Police Station arrested the accused and brought him to the Quepem Police Station.

SP Sawant said that Ramkumar hit Ubaldina on her head with an iron rod and strangulated the victim to death with the help of wire.

She said that police will recover the weapon and the stolen gold chain.

The SP said that a post mortem examination report showed injuries on the victim’s neck and head, which confirmed that she was murdered. During interrogation, the accused confessed to committing the murder.
