VASCO: In a tragic accident, a Carambolim resident was killed on Sunday evening when she was hit by a speeding car at Dabolim.
According to the Vasco police, the victim identified as Maria Cleta Antonieta Eulalia Varela E Pires was crossing the road from the exit gate of Dabolim Airport to the other side when the accident occurred.
The driver, identified as Yashpal Singh Negi, a resident of Headland Sada, Mormugao, was arrested by the Vasco Police. However, he was subsequently released on bail.
The victim was rushed to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim, but succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.
