Penha-De-Franca panchayat began a demolition drive on Friday against the illegal roadside structures near Malim jetty, at Betim. Sarpanch Swapnil Chodankar stated that the panchayat did not serve any notices to the owners of the structures as they had encroached on the road, thereby causing traffic congestion. The panchayat, however, will shift those structures having licenses, elsewhere.
