PANJIM: The Class 12 physics paper of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) examination has evoked mixed responses from students as some said it was ‘ok’ while others complained that it was very tough as compared to the previous year. Most students at the Cujira Integrated School Complex a day later speaking to Herald said they found the physics paper very tough as compared to last year while others said the paper was ok except for a few questions.
According to the students Question number 1 which says whether the field is uniform or non-uniform is not mentioned. Also question number 21 was based on no reference material in the text book whereas in question number 21, long answer type is broken in to 5 sub-questions and made into objective instead of subjective.
“The questions tested our analytical skills. Mostly all of them were tricky questions. We can say that the 80 per cent of the paper was tough. The Paper setter is confused about knowledge and understanding based questions,” said a student who did not want to be named.
Another student said, “The paper was of an analytical type. Most Goa Board Students haven’t been trained to answer questions of this sort. Even Pace and Aryans students who have been trained for NEET and IIT level found this paper difficult.”
The students said that they spent their time studying 15 chapters from the vast text book and not much was asked from those chapters; as per the Rajhauns format only 20 per cent of the questions are supposed to be difficult which was not followed.
On the other hand some students said that expect for a few questions which were based on application, the paper was not so difficult.
“The paper was ok. I did find it so difficult and the same was with my friends. Definitely, the paper was answerable expect for 2-3 questions. I don’t understand students who say that 80 per cent of the paper was tough,” said a student.
Meanwhile, speaking to Herald, Board official Ramkrishna Samant said, “I will look into this matter. As of now I have not received any complaints.”
