VASCO: Girish Pillai was elected unopposed as the new sarpanch of Sancoale Panchayat after securing nine votes out of eleven in a special meeting called to elect new sarpanch, on Tuesday.
After the election process, new sarpanch Pillai said that he will bring development in the Sancoale village and will support panchas to complete developmental works in all wards wherever necessary.

He said, “I will see to it that the incomplete paperwork of material recovery facility (MRF) which was inaugurated last month, is completed.”
Elvis Figueiredo was the presiding officer. Former sarpanch Ramakant Borkar and his wife panch Sunita Borkar were absent during the meeting.
