PORVORIM: Penha de Franca Sarpanch Radhika Sawant filed a complaint with the Porvorim police against the panch of ward 9, Umesh Phadte, for dumping garbage beside the Subhash Chandra Bose garden.
In her complaint, Sawant stated that the panchayat had held a cleanliness drive at the garden on World Environment Day (June 7). The next day, the accused dumped plastic bags, bottles and dirt beside the garden, thus polluting the environment.
She added that the panchayat always cleaned the garden.
