The Convenor of the south Goa unit of All Goa Panchayat Democratic Forum has appealed to the elected panchayat representatives and members of the public to attend the meeting convened on August 20 at the Immaculate Conception Church hall, Panjim at 3 pm.
Edwin Barretto said the meeting will convey to the government that anti-people laws will not be accepted by the people and will be fought tooth and nail till the same is revoked. Members of the Forum have already met the governor and appealed to him not to give his assent to the Bill.
He said the All Goa Panchayat Democratic Forum has made elaborate arrangements to contact all Sarpanchas, deputy Sarpanchas and other elected grass root representatives and has appealed to them to attend the meeting in large numbers.
