PANJIM: Olivio Pinto, owner of Swimsea Resort located at Caranzalem Beach, has accused the police of taking no action against miscreants who litter and throw unwanted waste on the beach and around the resort, despite several complaints.
He said that groups of youngsters wander on the beach and next to the resort, consuming alcohol and playing loud music, creating inconvenience to the people. He alleged they also break alcohol bottles and throw them around, along with unwanted waste, littering the area.
He said the groups were requested to stop creating a nuisance, but they claimed they were sons and daughters of VVIPs and top government officials. Pinto alleged that the police have not taken any action or even questioned the miscreants.
Pinto said, “These groups of around 20-25 youngsters have been coming here for the past five months and the police have not taken any action against these miscreants despite several complaints. This is causing inconvenience to our guests and others. I seek immediate action by the police.”
He alleged that the miscreants have also destroyed government property, and referred to an incident where the youth damaged street lights which led to a blackout on the beach.
