MAPUSA: Thirty-eight-year old one Alauddin Mankutty, a resident of Porvorim died on the spot in an accident reported on Wednesday.
According to police sources, the accident occurred at around 1.15pm when a container was proceeding to Colvale from Panjim.

Police said the rider tried to overtake from the wrong side below the flyover and hit the container.
The impact was such that the rider lost control and was crushed to death under the wheels of the container.
Mapusa Police conducted the panchanama and the body was sent to the District Hospital for autopsy.
Mapusa Police registered an accident case and arrested the container driver Netaji Gaikwad, a resident of Mumbai.
PSI Richa Bhosle and Head Constable Keshav Naik are investigating the case.
