BICHOLIM: Property worth about Rs 1.5 lakh was gutted in fire in four separate incidents in Bicholim on Wednesday.
According to the fire-force, at Kudnem, dry grass and trees caught fire causing a loss of Rs 50,000, while at Mayem, a cashew plantation belonging to Dyaneshwar Karbotkar was gutted, causing a loss of Rs 50,000 as well.
Fire personnel further informed that a cashew plantation was gutted at Vathadev, while a similar incident was reported at Kulan-Karapur.
The total loss was reported to be about Rs 1.5 lakh and the fire-force claimed that they managed to save property of about Rs 2 lakh.
The fire-force personnel carried out the operations under the guidance of Fire officer Shripad Gawas and A S Dhawaskar.
