He added that the works will be vital for the development of the taluka.
The proposal includes widening and four-laning of the National Highway 4A (NH4A) from Shapur-Ponda to Kundaim, Mardol to Priol, Bhom to Muslimwada, besides four underpasses at GVM College and PES College, and three flyovers.
Dhavalikar was speaking after laying the foundation stone for a bypass road from Goa Engineering College, Farmagudi to Mardol and another leading to Katamgal Devasthan. He further stated that the construction of the bypass at GEC College has begun and that the 15-metre wide and three-kilometre long road, costing around Rs 4 crore, will be completed very soon with the cooperation of Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar. The road will also have a retaining wall.
Dhavalikar added that the bypass will also prevent outsiders from entering and carrying out unwanted activities in Farmagudi.
