MARGAO: The newly-inducted PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar has assured to make all efforts to restart mining in Goa and provide relief to the affected workers, truck owners and barge owners.
Pauskar alleged that MGP head Sudin Dhavalikar never took his request to put in efforts to restart mining seriously.
Pauskar informed that he has taken charge of the Department and added that he would first review the water supply in Goa and ensure that the water supply in the areas hit by water shortage will be regularised.
The PWD Minister assured that he would review all road works and the sewerage network projects soon.
“The former Chief Minister late Manohar Parrikar had sanctioned works worth Rs 25 crore in each constituency of Goa. I am going to review the progress of these works as soon as I take charge,” Pauskar added.
“Action will be taken in the JICA matter after consulting the Chief Minister if any substantial allegations come to the fore. The matter is in the Court, I will consult the Chief Minister and take necessary action,” said Pauskar
Speaking on the political coup, he said, “It’s been 18 months since we got elected on the MGP ticket. MGP head Sudin Dhavalikar for the last 18 months never took us into confidence in any decision whatsoever. Mining dependents and the affected people have elected me to the Assembly and it is my duty and responsibility to ensure that I solve their problems but my request was never heard hence I was forced to quit MGP,” he claimed.
He challenged Deepak Dhavalikar to go ahead and file disqualification case against them.
