MARGAO: Following a complaint by Shailesh Naik, Deputy Town Planner, Quepem, the Quepem police have registered a case of hill cutting under Section 17-A of the Town and Country Planning Act.

Police stated that in Rivona, the accused, Devdatta Patil of Shree Subrahmanya Vangmayee Parishad, Sanguem, Goa, allegedly carried out illegal hill cutting on land bearing Survey No. 64/2 without obtaining prior written permission from the Department of Town and Country Planning.
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Siddesh Naik of Quepem Police Station.
