PANJIM, JUNE 23 (HR) — Panjim police today arrested one Siddharth Borkar, 27, resident of Quepem in connection with the cheating case filed by one Shantaram Zantye, who (65).
Mr Zantye in his complaint had stated that prior to May 25, 2009 some unknown person stole his HDFC Bank ATM card as well as the pin number and withdrew cash of Rs 4.75 lakh from his account.
The amount was withdrawn from different places in Goa, Karwar and Belgaum. Panjim police today arrested Siddharth Borkar, former employee of Zantye on suspicion.
Police claimed that Siddharth left the job in first week of May without giving any reason and despite insistence did not return to work.
When the police called him for inquiries too he failed to turn up and when he came today we arrested him on suspicion, police said.
Borkar has been arrested under Section 380 of IPC and produced in court, which remanded him to three days police custody.
