PANJIM: Monsoon in Goa will commence as usual by the first week of June, according to the weather bureau here.
Reports are that the monsoon is due to set in the South Andaman Sea and adjoining South West Bay of Bengal within the next 48 hours.
“If there is no change reported in this schedule than the monsoon are expected to begin there within the next two to three days and monsoons in Goa will commence by the first week of June,” said KV Singh heading the State weather bureau.
Singh said that Goa will also receive normal rainfall as it has in the last three years.
With the likely onset of the monsoon in the South West Bay of Bengal later this week, Goa may receive some thundershowers that will bring some respite to the increasing humidity levels.
The maximum temperatures have come down to 34 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperatures, is being recorded at around 26 degrees.
