PANJIM: All Goa Hilal Committee announced the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan and the obligatory fasting from Tuesday, March 12.
State President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Goa, Asif Hussain extended greetings of peace to all citizens of Goa. In a message to the society, he said, “We hope that the month of fasting will serve as a catalyst for the development of piety and consciousness of the Divine in our lives. It is important to embody the message of peace and embrace collective social responsibility towards our society in our daily actions.”

He further urged all members of the Goan society to foster an environment of dialogue and understanding, enabling the sharing of the spiritual blessings of Ramadan. “Let us collectively embrace the values of compassion, empathy, and solidarity as we embark on this sacred journey of Ramadan,” Hussain stated.
Meanwhile, President of the Association of All Goa Muslim Jamats, Sheikh Bashir in a statement informed that the crescent moon was sighted on Monday evening marking the beginning of the holy month. “I wish the people of Goa a blessed Ramadan Kareem and pray that we prosper as a society with love and affection for each other. Let us pray for peace, piety and well-being of all,” he said.
