PANJIM: A day after former Chief Minister and Poriem MLA Pratapsingh Rane and his son Health Minister Vishwajit showed their readiness to contest the ensuing Assembly elections, the Congress Central Election Committee (CEC) on Wednesday approved senior Rane’s name for the seat.

After senior Rane announced that he will contest the Assembly elections for the consecutive 12th time, his son Vishwajit immediately advised his father to honourably retire from politics and that he will contest from Poriem constituency on BJP ticket.
