Reacting to the debate issue, MLA said he has been taking up several initiatives with regards to education in the Benaulim constituency.

“I am ready for the debate but not with the people who are mentally ill. Who is he (Venzy)? He is not a panch nor is he the people’s representative in any way, hence why an MLA should have a debate with such people. He never invited me to a debate on education,” said Churchill.

He said he is ready to have a discussion with AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal if invited.

APP leader Venzy alleged that the infrastructure with regard to the education sector, more especially pertaining to the anganwadis is in pathetic condition in the Benaulim constituency.

“Being an MLA he should come forward for the debate or for discussion on the education issue. We are stressing on the issue so that people should know the development in the field of education in Benaulim. MLA still has time to do better if not done anything to improve the facilities in the field of education”, he said.

ZP member Hanzel Fernandes alleged that the MLA is pressurising anganwadi workers and concerned people not to allow him in taking up works related to anganwadi.
