Calling the case a drama, Lourenco questioned how the police arrested four persons in four consecutive days and said “it is interesting to note that the investigating agency is recording the statements of the witnesses before a magistrate.”
“If the accused and the witnesses are telling the truth, why are they being taken to the magistrate for recording of their statements?” he questioned.
Claiming that that the entire case looks pre-planned by the government agencies, Lourenco said “when the results are out, we would know if the government is on the right track or not.”
When asked about the arrest of former Navelim MLA Churchill Alemao who has been targeting Louenco recently, the Curtorim MLA said that the government may deny any interference on their side but that there was certainly high handedness in the ongoing investigations.
