PANJIM: The State government will provide one-time relief of Rs 5000 to nearly 25,000 to 30,000 marginalised people and those from the unorganised sector, who lost their livelihood due to the COVID-19 pandemic, informed Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said on Wednesday.
Sawant said that there are nearly 25,000 to 30,000 practitioners of traditional occupations and traditional business such as taxi and autorickshaw drivers, yellow and black motorcycle pilots, NMR workers registered in village panchayats who can avail of the one-time ex-gratia financial assistance of Rs 5000.

The traditional occupants are registered with the Directorate of Social Welfare and they will have to fill a simple form. In addition the government will collate the list of eligible beneficiaries from the respective associations and other similar means, he added.
