‘Restart sand extraction, stone quarries’

MARGAO: Clarifying that the trucks owned by the locals in coal transportation are not involved in overloading, Margao-Salcete Truck Owners Association (MSTWA) on Tuesday demanded starting of sand extraction, besides stone quarries in the state at the earliest.

Addressing reporters Franky Gomes, President of MSTWA expressed anger over allegations that the local truck owners for alleged overloading during the transportation of the coal. 

“We the local truck owners engaged in coal transportation are not involved in overloading the coal,” he clarified. 

He further said that they are loading the coal as per the limit allowed to them.
