PANJIM: Revolutionary Goans (RG) has questioned why schemes, which were backlogged for four years, are being sanctioned now before the elections.
Speaking to the media, RG was commenting about the number of applicants seen outside the Women and Child Department Panjim with no social distancing whatsoever. They also criticised that the applicants were being made to wait in the rains outside the department, while mocking the government’s Digital India campaign and that the citizens are not getting the kind of relief they actually need to get.
RG pointed out that various schemes are pending since 2017 and despite the citizens doing all the running around, they are yet to receive their due funds and some have given up hope.
“Why the four years backlog of Laadli Laxmi scheme? When the government has the money for all other activities then why are the schemes not been delivered for such a long time? Why are citizens made to wait in the long queues for the rights which they were promised? Our rights are delayed due to the incapability of the BJP government and as elections are nearing, they remember all the promises they need to fulfil,” said RG President Viresh Borkar.
