PANJIM: Revelation ~ through the Konkani-movie ‘Baga beach’~ that child sex is available for Rs 50 in the State, has attracted the attention of Goa State Human Rights Commission with the latter taking suo-motu cognizance of the matter.
Home secretary B Vijayan and DGP Kishan Kumar have been issued notices to submit details of the case by December 16.
Pramod Salgaokar, producer of the movie had told a press conference during the ongoing IFFI that “Child sex is being offered for Rs 50 on Goa’s beaches.”
She said that once she got a complaint from a Hungarian tourist, who was reportedly offered child sex for Rs 50. Ms Salgaokar is a former chairperson of the Goa State Commission for Women.
This is the second suo motu case taken up by the commission in two days with the first being the alleged sexual harassment incident reported at IFFI venue.
on November 16 wherein DFF Director Shankar Mohan has been directed to submit the complaints committee’s report before it by December 2.
