The position had been left vacant after Mandrekar stepped down, prompting the need for a fresh election to fill the role. Fernandes will now take charge as the head of the panchayat, and is expected to focus on continuing local development initiatives and addressing community concerns.

Panchayat officials welcomed the seamless electoral process and expressed hope that the new Sarpanch would bring positive momentum to the village’s governance.
