VASCO: Assistant Director of Transport, Vasco, Abhay Naik Wednesday issued the final warning to all bus operators from Vasco asking them to either resolve their issue among themselves or face action which might even be suspension of bus permits, if any bus operator found creating confusion or chaos at the city bus stand due to overlap of operational timings.
According to sources, some bus operators from Vasco met Naik in his office on Wednesday and complained that they have been facing hardships as few bus operators have been deliberately consuming their stoppage time at Vasco bus stand by keeping their buses beyond the route timings. They informed that such practice has been going on daily due to which the operators have been fighting against each other.
They demanded that the RTO should ensure that such practice is stopped or else the same would lead to serious problems among the bus operators.
After hearing them aggrieved bus operators, whose buses are plying on Vasco-Baina-Airport via Mangor route, he informed them that similar complaints were received by him against them and thus he issued a severe warning to bus operators that, henceforth, if he receives any more complaints, then, he would suspend driver’s licence and might also suspend bus permits of bus operators involved.
“I have been receiving similar complaints on daily basis and we cannot keep our staff daily to monitor whether the bus has been leaving on time or not. They should come out with the solution by holding a joint meeting. Still, since such complaints from bus operators has increased, I have warned them that I would suspend the driver’s licence and might also suspend bus permits of bus operators involved in such act,” Abhay Naik told Herald.
