MARGAO: Rumdamol Davorlim panchayat on Monday demanded a separate power sub-station.
Briefing media persons, panch Vinayak Volvoikar said that though their village was part of Navelim constituency, they are provided electricity supply from the Fatorda sub-station while other panchayats from Navelim constituency get power from the Navelim sub-station.
“The Assistant Engineer has clearly told us that they accord priority to problems in Fatorda constituency and Rumdamol Davorlim is taken up last,” he said.
He lamented that recently when the Navelim sub-station was upgraded to 10 MVA, parts of Margao constituency were added to it instead of Rumdamol Davorlim.
“The upgraded 6.3 MVA sub-station could have been set up in our village,” he said.
He pointed out that the village is facing frequent power failures, which last for even three hours and added that that no works have been carried for the last 10 months.
