Russian and Belarus Nationals Arrested in Goa for Illegal Stay Without Valid Documents

Pernem Police have arrested two foreign nationals for allegedly residing in Goa without proper documentation.

The accused have been identified as Sergei Zaitsev, a 47-year-old Russian citizen, and Yauheni Kozel, a 36-year-old national of Belarus.

According to police officials, both men were found staying in the coastal state without valid visas or permits. They were taken into custody after verification of their travel documents revealed irregularities.

Authorities said further investigation is underway to determine how long the duo had been living illegally in India and whether they were involved in any other violations.

Police have urged property owners and landlords to thoroughly check the legal status of foreign tenants to prevent similar incidents.
