In a shocking incident, a 21-year-old Russian woman was molested by an unknown accused in her residential flat at Colva in the wee hours of Wednesday. The miscreant also decamped with a laptop owned by the woman.
Colva police registered a case of molestation, theft and trespass against unknown persons after the husband of the victim lodged a complaint at the police station on Wednesday noon.
The police said the unknown person entered the flat via the gallery when the husband Mikhail Shamov (34) was out of the house. The police said the miscreant laid his hand on the laptop and later molested the woman before making good his escape under the cover of darkness.
After receiving the complaint, the Colva police dispatched two jeeps to the area to nab the culprits, but in vain.
Replying to a question, the police said the Russian couple are not new to the place of residence after residing at the place for quite some time now.
The police are investigating.
