The Saligao Police swiftly solved a theft case after Rs 2.8 lakh was reportedly stolen from a rented villa at the Three Kings Resort in Nerul. The theft occurred between the night of September 16 and the early hours of September 17.
Following a complaint lodged by Vijay Prakash, police launched an immediate investigation aided by technical surveillance. Their efforts led to the arrest of 22-year-old Akash Mahato, a native of Puruliya, West Bengal, in Vasco, as he attempted to flee.

The entire stolen amount has been recovered. The operation was carried out by PSI David Costa, PSI Sarvesh Bhandari, PC Shrikrishna Redkar, and PC Sunny Pednekar, under the supervision of PI Milind Bhuimbar, SDPO Vishwesh Karpe, and SP North Rahul Gupta.
