VASCO: Sancoale panchayat at its special gram sabha resolved to reject draft Coastal Zone Management Plan for various discrepancies and for not incorporating the points and suggestions previously given by the villagers.
Edward Fernandes from Sancoale informed that the special gram sabha was called on Saturday on the draft CZMP plan.

He informed that there were several discrepancies in the draft CZMP such as several eco-sensitive areas, fishing, important structures, etc, were not shown in the draft CZMP.
Edward said, “Some houses were also shown in wrong survey numbers in the draft. As per the information, a Chennai-based company has done the draft CZMP plan using drones, etc, but the suggestions given by the locals were not incorporated. Therefore the villagers resolved at the special gram sabha to reject the draft CZMP”.
