This road has been in a very bad state for the past few years and has now finally been given a fresh new coat of tar. A total of 15 crores worth of work has been undertaken at Fatorda, including shifting of chapels and fisherwomen from the junction.
Sardesai recently inaugurated the tarring of the road from the South Goa District Collectorate to Agalli Junction. While taking a dig at the former MLA of Fatorda, Damu Naik, Sardesai said “Thanks to the former MLA for the opportunity he gave me to develop Fatorda by not doing any work in his tenure.” Sardesai inaugurating development work with the AAP convener has raised eyebrows and has now opened up a whole new topic of discussion amongst thinkers.
Sardesai said, “As an opposition legislator, I have ensured that Fatorda is not deprived in any way of development”. He has also ensured that the remaining work of hot mixing roads in Fatorda will be initiated immediately after the monsoons and will be completed at the earliest.”
MMC Councillor Tito Cardozo, John Miranda, Ramesh Naik and other prominent citizens from the locality were also present at the inauguration of the tarring work.
