The inspection revealed the sorry state of affairs and the SGDPA’s utter carelessness in maintaining it.
D’Silva directed the sanitary inspector to get the building cleaned from Wednesday, while Sardessai said he had yet another issue to debate in the Assembly. Lakhs of people visit the offices at the complex, but sadly it doesn’t even have a proper toilet or rest room.
Sardessai met the TCP authorities and advised that the stakeholders at the complex form a society, which hadn’t been done since the building was commissioned. He asked them to do so within seven days.
He further said, “The commercial arcade and the SGPDA market have been ignored to such an extent that some of the issues are beyond solving. I will take it up with the SGPDA.”
