A major diagnostic lapse has surfaced in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna after a 47-year-old man was issued a sonography report stating that he had a uterus. The patient, Niranjan Prajapati, chairman of the Uchehra Nagar Panchayat, had undergone the test on January 13 after complaining of abdominal pain. The report not only mentioned a uterus but described it as inverted, raising serious concerns over medical negligence. Prajapati later consulted doctors in Jabalpur, who informed him that the report could not belong to him. He has since filed a police complaint. The Health Department has taken cognisance of the matter and ordered an inquiry into the diagnostic centre’s functioning.
