Saudi Arabia strengthens India aviation links as flyadeal begins operations

flyadeal, the budget airline subsidiary of Saudia, has announced the launch of its first scheduled passenger flights to India, with daily non-stop services between Riyadh and Hyderabad beginning July 1, 2026.The new route marks the airline’s entry into one of the Gulf region’s busiest aviation corridors, driven by millions of Indian expatriates living and working in Saudi Arabia and the wider Gulf. Tickets for the service are now available through the airline’s official website, mobile application and travel agencies.

Hyderabad has become flyadeal’s first Indian destination, with the airline also hinting at plans to announce another India route in the near future. The southern Indian city is a major IT and business hub and shares strong economic and cultural ties with Gulf nations due to its large expatriate population.Sanjiv Kapoor, acting CEO of flyadeal and Executive Vice President of Strategies at Saudia Group, described India as a crucial market in the airline’s long-term international growth plans. He said the Hyderabad route would be the first step in the carrier’s broader expansion strategy in India.Until now, flyadeal had only operated special Hajj and Umrah services between India and Saudi Arabia. The Hyderabad route will become its first regular scheduled passenger service linking the two countries. Flights will be operated daily using Airbus A320neo aircraft configured entirely with 186 Economy Class seats.The airline currently serves 37 destinations across countries including the UAE, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey and Pakistan. Saudi Arabia’s aviation sector has witnessed rapid expansion under the Vision 2030 initiative, with airlines increasing connectivity and capacity to boost tourism and international travel.
