Schools to re-open on June 8

PANJIM: School students will have a few days more of holidays as the Directorate of Education has postponed re-opening of schools to June 8, as against the earlier scheduled date of June 4.

“Due to unavoidable circumstances the re-opening of all the schools in the State is postponed and re-scheduled to be opened on June 8,” the circular signed by Education Director G P Bhat reads.
Students have already begun preparations to attend schools with purchases of books, raincoats, water bottles, bags and other stationery.
Meanwhile, the government has assured distribution of notebooks to government primary students, and text books to students studying in government and aided schools from Class I-VIII on the day school re-open.
However, there will be a slight delay in distribution of raincoats and uniforms even as officials assured to distribute these by the month-end. The Goa Khadi and Village Industries Board has been sourced to supply uniforms for the students of class I and class III.
