MARGAO: The Shadow Council Margao (SCM) has claimed that the Margao Municipal Council is heading for a “Grand U-turn” on its stand against the encroachments which were cleared during a “much-hyped” drive conducted recently.
SCM president Savio Coutinho said, “It is learnt that the seized material is to be released by lowering the fine amount in order to benefit the encroachers by undervaluing the goods.
The SCM demands that the list of the seized goods along with the respective value be made public.
