Secretaries get new departments

PANJIM: The state government has reshuffled the departments assigned to secretaries to the government, in the wake of principal secretary (mines) being relieved of his responsibilities.

PANJIM: The state government has reshuffled the departments assigned to secretaries to the government, in the wake of principal secretary (mines) being relieved of his responsibilities. 
The Mines Department has been assigned to Pawan Kumar Sain, while Environment and Forests is to be handled by the Chief Secretary B Vijayan and PWD goes to Parimal Rai.
According to the orders issued Monday by undersecretary Personnel 1, Umeshchandra Joshi, the chief secretary will also handle Home, Personnel, ARD, who is also the chief vigilance officer and handles general administration.
Principal Secretary Health Parimal Rai besides PWD will handle Urban Development, Housing, TCP, Industries, trade and Commerce, Revenue, Tourism, Transport and the Water Resources.
P Krishnamurty is secretary to chief minister and will handle Finance, Planning and Women and Child Development while Hage Batt will handle Ports, River Navigation Department. D P Diwedi will continue to hold education and has been allocated Agriculture, Labour and Employement while Pramod Kamat will handle Law, Judiciary and Legislative affairs.
